What is mindfulness?

We are being mindfully aware when we are choosing to notice, with genuine interest, whatever is going on right now.

You might notice what your mind is doing, how you feel in your body, how your mood is, or what’s going on around you.
We often find ourselves caught up in thinking about the future or the past (planning or worrying) or sometimes preoccupied with
discomfort in the body. Mindfulness can help us to be more present.
It can help us begin to feel more resilient, more confident, or less stuck. It is inherently de-stressing and it helps us respond more
creatively and resourcefully to the situations we struggle with or find overwhelming.

About the course

This six-week course is based on the Mindful Resilience Enhancement approach (http://integratedmindfulness.com/training/mre/). This is a
gentle approach designed to help even the busiest people weave mindful awareness into their lives. You will learn to cultivate mindful
awareness through a series of simple and accessible mindfulness practices, guided by experienced teachers. Handouts and downloads
of the key practices will be provided.
The course is run by Kelly Birtwell and Kate Williams, experienced mindfulness teachers with their own personal practice of mindfulness.
